i just am still so fascinated by newt and hermann’s respective and collective backstories like:

• they’re both from germany but newt learned english in the US and hermann learned it in europe so when you first meet them you think they’re respectively an annoying american and a stuffy brit
• they are pretty much the same age and were both lonely child prodigies
• when they became pen pals they each felt like they had a friend for the first time in their lives and wrote each other constantly for years
• when they met they loathed each other on sight and they’ve basically been working together ever since
• also both charlie day and burn gorman firmly believe they’re gay for each other and who am i to contradict them
