whenever people complain about period-accuracy in their historical fiction i’m going to point them to the scene in the 2013 great gatsby movie where a row of girls twerk in flapper-themed lingerie

like i’m on the imdb and all these people are pointing out like how the car model dates don’t match the year the film is set and how the manhattan skyline featured in an establishing shot includes buildings that didn’t exist in 1922 and im like………was….the gratuitous shot of women twerking in flapper-themed lingerie……..not the first sign that this movie is perhaps not particularly wed to period accuracy
