fuck minimalism. if you dont have trinkets and knickknacks on every surface you’re not doing it right.
the point of this post is not about junk or collectables!!!! its about the 7 bottles i own for no reason other than i think they look neat!!! its about the glass i found on the beach and pocketed because its pretty!! hell is an endless white expanse with a single white chair and white table with a single succulent on it!!!!!
Magpies are very intelligent birds, as evidenced by the fact that one clearly has a blog.
Planning and self control in animals do not require human-like mental capacities, according to a new study. Newly developed learning models, similar to models within artificial intelligence research, show how planning in ravens and great apes can develop through prior experiences without any need of thinking.
Would anyone like to see pictures of this bird I’m friends with
I love her
i am loving people’s attempts to identify this bird its just an australian magpie, she’s not a chimera, she’s not a fucked up crow, etc. she is just….. a regular run of the mill magpie
She is also a mother…. here is her yelling son who she brought to me one time
HOW THE HELL DID YOU BEFRIEND AN AUSTRALIAN MAGPIE
i give her chips sometimes
From what I’ve heard, australian magpies are actually quite nice if they trust you not to hurt them. Swooping season happens because, as a species, they’ve learned that most humans are Dangerous and so they preemptively attack to protect themselves and their young. If you’ve been nice to a group of magpies, though, they’ll remember you and you won’t be swooped at.
No. Magpies attack without provocation, without mercy, and without remorse. This whole ‘of only humans were nicer’ idea is such fucking bullshit it actually made me scoff outloud. Whoever that person is they’re obviously not Australian. Or, at the very least, they’re not an Australian that has ever had to walk around outside in early spring.
The reason THESE magpies are being nice isn’t because the humans refrained from attacking them… it’s because it’s not nesting season as shown by the jacaranda flowers on the ground AND because this particular human is feeding them. So it’s not ‘don’t attack them and they won’t attack you’ it’s ‘feed us and we might not gouge your eyes out’.
