apparently the answer to “what would a fusion of a young seam and jevil look like” is feline trickster. an appropriate answer but terrifying in practice.

probably would have some dumb name like “stitches” or “cahoots” or something like that and the battle theme would absolutely be called something like “royal theater”. terrifyingly nimble and graceful, talks like zacharie from off, bounces around the screen constantly. good luck fighting this asshole.

for the two characters who are completely polar opposites in dynamic, personality, and purpose (especially since there are quiet literally the “rules card” and the “joker card”)

i don’t think the way that they’d interact with each other is touched upon as much as i feel it should be  🤔

either way, i think they’d very much hate each others guts 🙂

these are incredibly detailed and absolutely my favourite thing ever like

honestly just

so good

i cannot wait to get the thing i’m working on finished

if undertale was an exploration of the concept of each little choice the player makes having an impact on the entire world. and there being a total of 93 possible endings(!!) is a result of that

deltarune will be an exploration of choices that significantly change your individual experience NOT having any effect whatsoever on the world itself. like, doing a run where you spare everyone and doing one where you beat everyone up are definitely different. but what results from your actions will be the same. we won’t know for sure until we see chapter 2, but I’m willing to bet that the events in the dark world still happen even if kris goes back to bed and misses school. instead of timelines branching outward, they get pulled back in at specific anchor points.

deltarune is essentially told from the perspective of an NPC, one whose actions are inconsequential to the events that take place. in undertale, you were the PLAYER CHARACTER, someone for whom the world was BUILT. in deltarune, you don’t get to be friends with your dungeon master, the story doesn’t change for you. you get to be the one stuck in an endless loop of watching the same events play out without the ability to stop them…

so, who IS this world written for? who is the main character that we are playing support for? we’ll have to wait and see
